MystiTool updates

It is clear to me now two updates to MystiTool will be required.

The first update will likely be released in February. This update will consist of some modernization, a few optimizations of internals, and moderate resource allocation reduction. Overall there will be very few changes to the appearance, use, and feature set of MystiTool.

The next update will require a major redesign of internals. I prefer to not discuss details of future updates, so I will only say the redesign will be significant and require more time. Thankfully the foundation for the redesign was begun some years ago and this will help speed the process. :)

Survey results

After reviewing survey responses received so far, the following features will be removed from the next MystiTool:

• Quotes
• URL Catcher
• Anti-Idle

All other features will remain!

A few features have become outdated, and some are crying for updates. I will be removing a few unused and outdated features from MystiTool, and updating existing features for modern SL. If you are using a feature considered for removal, I would like to know about it!

Currently I do not know which features are used and which are ignored. It would be very helpful if you could fill this notecard and return it to me. :)

• I am aware of script memory issues due to Mono which were “discovered” during my absence. This has been addressed in the current development version of MystiTool.

I have placed a low memory version of the latest ZHAO in my shop, in Blumfield!

Changes:

• Merged all button color scripts into one.
• Recompiled all scripts to use less memory.
• Modified button colors for “oldskool” to something more Mysti. :)

All sims will disappear in the first week of October. I have already removed our sandbox sim due to its approaching billing date.

• Avendale (sandbox sim) – Gone as of today.

I have sent a group notice as well as an additional notecard + IMs directly to our remaining four residents. Refunds have also been sent to the names on the parcel meters.

Please feel free to continue using your land until the sims disappear, but please remove your no-copy items! When our sims disappear, there will be no warning and all items in our sims at that time will be permanently lost!

I would like to thank all who contributed and participated in our community over the years for all the wonderful memories and fun times!

I have received many offline IMs to my email and many notecards inworld. I will try my best to respond to all I have received as quickly as possible, but it will be some time for me to review two years of inquiries. My best method of contact is still notecards.

I am unsure of the future of MystiTool, but I will continue to support and release minor updates for bug fixes. It will be some time for me to “catch up” and more time for me to decide how MystiTool will evolve for modern SL.

On personal things, I am again very sorry to disappear for a very long time without notice. I expect I will receive many IMs in the next few weeks and I will try to respond, but please do not be upset if I do not respond immediately. It currently is difficult for me to concentrate and I apologize now for any misunderstandings.

It is amazing how different SL seems now, after such a long time away. Nearly everything I have created seems so dull and outdated. Simple textures, basic prim shapes, low prim designs, etc.. I have spent so much time fine-tuning scripts and living on tiny parcels. I have forgotten to make things look nice! That must change. :)

On more personal matters, I appear to have angered many with my long and unexplained absence. I can only apologize for not finding the means to contact anyone in SL. I cannot give any RL details except to say my departure was very immediate, and I did not expect to be away for more than one or two weeks. Due to the events of the past months, SL was very much the last thing on my mind. For the moment, I would like to move on and forget the first half of this year for a while. :)

Avendale Update

After this weekend’s community meeting, we have agreed to reduce the size of Avendale down to our first two sims. Current residents displaced by the removal of other sims will have first choices for land this week. After this week, any unclaimed land will be available to anyone. :)

It will be very sad to see the other sims disappear, but I am looking forward to the closer community we will become once we are all together in only two sims! :)

Product Updates

I am currently aware of issues with the Global ATM and loading the access list notecard. I will try to have a fix by this weekend. :)

Offlines

I still have hundreds of offlines remaining. At the rate I am moving through them, I hope to be done by the end of next week. :)
